We have a woodpecker that lives in a tree in our garden. He’s difficult to spot but I love hearing him pecking his way up and down the tree. I can tell how high he his by the pitch of the knocking, and occasionally glimpse a flash of bright red feathers as he hops his way back up to the nest.
